News: Joe Claims R. Kelly Held His Career Back
He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but R&B artist Joe felt something wasn't quite right with his situation at Jive Records. So after 11 years on the label and six albums, the singer decided earlier this year to bounce and give the independent route a try. It wasn't until after he left the label that Joe says he found out what was behind his perceived stalled progress. He says his own label mate, R. Kelly, put pressure on Jive execs and radio stations to fall back on promoting his records when the singles appeared to be getting too much attention. "R. Kelly was very instrumental in making a lot of decisions when it came to my records being played on the radio," Joe told EUR's Lee Bailey Tuesday. "He would make a call to the radio station or to the label and say, 'Hey, this Joe record is too hot right now. Yall need to pull that back.' And they would oblige." more cat pictures SERIOUSLY, THOUGH, WITH GAS PRICES THE WAY THEY ARE, PEOPLE ARE STARTING TO REALISE THAT THERE ARE ALTERNATIVES TO DRIVING as make more sensible use of fuels all alone. Otherwise, what stands in the way of breaking our bond-slavery to automotive... (more)

In today's world, divorce rates are extremely high ( I believe somewhere around 50%) which I do think is too high; however, I do not think that people should not be allowed to get divorced. In certain circumstances I believe that it may be necessary for two people to obtain a divorce whether it be for the safety of one of the partners or because the couple is truly unable to work out their problems. Two people should not be forced to stay in a marriage if they are miserable and there seems to be no solution. I also think that the couple needs to explore every avenue possible in order to fix their marraige before moving on. Marriage is not something that should not be taken lightly and not something that should just be rushed into. I think that a lot of people become swept up in the emotions of falling in love and tend to marry before they know everything they need to about their partner. The website I chose for this week includes some statistics about marriage and divorce. I was... (more)
